Dear Aunty Lian

Thank you for taking good care of our newborn, Julia and all the nutritious food and soup you prepared for me, and my family. We are fortunate to have you as our confinement nanny.

Most importantly, for guiding me to take better care of my baby. I will always remember how you discovered why she wasn’t latched on correctly. Despite being a second time mum, I would not have known so quickly had you not highlighted it to me. And not forgetting how you’ve help to get my home organized and the countless times you spent washing the milk pump and bottles.

I will always remember you and not fail to recommend your service whenever I have a chance.

Cheers!
Sarah Chew

Dear Auntie Lian,You were on the train over that night the baby came home from the hospital. Alone with her, we were unsure of what to do all of the time. I clearly remember her cries were so deafening, they resonated around the room. 11PM, 2AM, 3AM, 5AM?It was a very challenging night for the three of us. Like a guardian angel sent to us, you sprang into action the moment you arrived. Your first agenda was to take care of the baby and me.Being friendly and warm, you made us feel comfortable in having you with us and in taking care of the new-born. You handled the baby very well and she was most contented under your charge. Another thing that requires mentioning is your wonderful cooking skills - those trotters in black vinegar smelt and tasted great! The greatest value of having you during our confinement was the tips you gave on baby care. Being first-time parents, we gained tremendously from your expert advice and up-to-date knowledge. You helped us become more competent in baby care. We are definitely more knowledgeable and capable compared to the very first night. You were a god-sent! Thank you Auntie Lian!
Love, Christine, Wil & Tara-Jade

Auntie Lian is extremely patient with my younger girl and her wealth of experience may be second to none. Culinary wise, her skills are simply awesome. She could easily open up a restaurant and make a lot more I am secretly hoping she could be my permanent nanny.

To Whom It May Concern, This is with reference to Mimi Cha Lian, or "Auntie Lian" who was my confinement nanny for 1 month in January 2008. Auntie Lian carried out her duties efficiently and professionally. Although her work scope was to take care of my son and to cook a special post-natal diet for myself, she often went beyond the call of duty and proactively took on additional work such as assisting with the household chores. This was especially helpful as it was a physically and mentally taxing time for me as a first time mum. Most importantly, Auntie Lian was extremely gentle with the newborn and bonded with my son very quickly. She was very confident with regards to handling Sean and was a great help in taking care of him especially in the wee hours of the morning i.e. midnight feeds, thus allowing me to have ample rest. My own physical well being was also taken care of by Auntie Lian who cooked nutritious & nourishing meals for me to ensure a quick post-natal recovery. Her cooking was delicious and debunked all misconceptions my husband and I had about 'scary confinement food'! Auntie Lian was an encouraging & comforting presence at home helping me deal with an extremely bad bout of Mastitis and was also a great companion in my first few trips out of the house with Sean to the paediatrician etc. Not only was Auntie Lian highly professional, efficient, great with Sean and a good cook, she was also extremely neat and tidy - keeping my home spic and span! My husband & I do not hesitate to recommend Auntie Lian for anybody looking for a professional Confinement Nanny who would make the stressful first month a lot easier. To Whom It May Concern

My husband and I employed Cha Chong Lin (Mimi) for two months as confinement nanny to our first born daughter.

As a couple who had not previously had live-in help, we were nervous both about having someone live in our home, as well as have someone we didn’t know help to look after our daughter. Within the first 2 hours of arriving, Mimi had completely put our minds at rest about all and any of our concerns.

She was incredibly gentle with our newborn daughter and knew far more than we did about taking care of such a young child. She was extremely patient with us while teaching us all the basics of newborn care. We could not have been more comfortable leaving Mimi alone to take care of our daughter in our absence, and were very touched to see the obvious care that she took and the bond she developed with our daughter. Mimi also supported and guided me through a few issues with breastfeeding, enabling me to continue when at times I thought I could not. Mimi is an extremely knowledgeable confinement nanny and I cannot praise her skills and patience enough.

Mimi is also an extremely proficient cook. She cooked excellent stir fries, fried rice, noodles, chicken dishes, beef dishes, fish dishes, western breakfast and a myriad of other dishes – all of which were excellent. Midway through her employment with us, my husband was forced to go on a no sugar, no yeast diet, which is quite difficult to cook for. Mimi took the task seriously, learning new dishes and new ways of cooking to accommodate my husband’s needs. We were both extremely grateful and very impressed.

As we have no live-in helper, Mimi also helped us around the house. She is extremely organised and kept our home neat and tidy – she even organised my kitchen for me. Everything she did, she did without prompting, showing great initiative and a willingness and desire to help. She helped me to organise our daughter’s room as well and kept it looking perfect at all times. Mimi’s hygiene was also excellent, always washing her hands before holding our baby.

Having Mimi live in our home with us was a pleasure. She was never intrusive and never once made us overly aware that we had an additional person living in our home. Having her there was like having a member of our family staying with us, and she is welcome in our home anytime.

I cannot recommend Mimi highly enough, and feel so fortunate to have had her by my side through the trying first months of being a new mother. She was a great support to me and I will definitely be asking her back if and when we have more children.

Should you be lucky enough to employ her services, make sure she cooks you her fabulous cod dish! Please feel free to contact me should you need a verbal reference.

My baby and I are very fortunate to have Auntie Lian as my confinement nanny. She is very capable, efficient and clean. She always washes her hands before handling the baby. She proactively does the housework even though she is not required to do so. She took very good care of me during my confinement and was very encouraging when my milk supply was low. She also taught me a lot on babycare and breastfeeding. I learnt so much from her that I extended her for another few weeks to train my new maid. Her cooking is also fantastic - my husband can't get enough of her dishes. He's gonna miss her cooking!
Most importantly, I can tell she really loves babies. She bonds so well with my baby that people mistake her for the grandmother. My baby enjoys playing with her. I feel so assured when the baby is under her care. I wish she could stay with me permanently!
My baby and I will definitely miss her.
Auntie Lian, thank you so much. Crystal, the baby who screams loudlyand is very difficult to burp, will miss you very very much. We shall see you hopefully when her sis/bro is born! Keep in touch, especially if you are working in Tampines area.
